WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKZO) -- People who claim to be victims of GM's faulty vehicles are speaking out, with one woman calling her car a "death trap."

Samantha Denti of New Jersey said she was nearly killed in her Chevy Cobalt three times due to a faulty ignition switch. The third incident occurred after her car was checked by a GM dealer mechanic. She described driving it as playing "Russian roulette."

Other members of victims' families accused GM of negligence. Connecticut Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal said GM should create a hefty compensation fund for victims' families. Faulty ignition switches are blamed for more than a dozen deaths in the U.S. and Canada.
