KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Former state Representative Lorence Wenke has formally announced his bid for Michigan Senate in 2014. The Republican candidate was term-limited out of office in the Michigan House, and has been seen around town recently with his "Stop and Talk" stations on the side of area roads, giving voters a chance to speak with him directly.
Thursday morning, Wenke made it official, stating in a press release that he will run for the Michigan Senate's 20th District. Wenke also owns and operates Wenke Greenhouses.
Democratic state Representative Sean McCann has also announced he is running for the seat.
