WASHINGTON, DC (WKZO) -- Congressman Mike Rogers insists the U.S. is giving up its leverage by cutting a deal with Russia to rid Syria of chemical weapons.
The Michigan Republican told CNN's "State of the Union" Russia's president is leading America by the nose and slowing down the process. Representative Adam Schiff disagreed. The California Democrat appeared on the same program, saying the deal is going to be tough on Syria with firm deadlines.
Russia and the United States reached an agreement over the weekend to pressure Syria to turn over its chemical weapons for destruction.
