ALBION (WKZO) --  The National Weather Service dispatched a team to look at the damage in Albion and it appears it was caused by a micro-burst on Wednesday.

They describe it as a straight line tornado with gusts of between 70 and 80 miles per hour.

It blew huge trees over, smashing cars and damaging homes and blowing the roofs off downtown businesses.

Almost all the power has since been restored but it will take a while to remove all the debris.

AlbionCollege will remain closed until Sunday at noon and classes won’t resume until Monday.
