LANSING (WKZO) -- Governor Snyder released a statement following Monday's death of Michigan State Police Trooper Paul Butterfield in the line of duty.
"This senseless incident is a grim reminder that our brave public safety officers put their lives on the line every day when they go to work protecting Michiganders," says Snyder. "They are heroes."
Snyder says that a tragic event like this shakes all Michigan residnets, but also bolsters the resolve to make our streets and our neighborhoods safer. Butterfield, with the Hart Post, died Monday night after a shootout.
