FORT WAYNE (WKZO) -- Coming up this Saturday in Fort Wayne, Indiana, it's an event for lovers of General Motors pick up trucks. Fort Wayne is the home of the Silverado-Sierra assembly line, and GM's planning a truck homecoming event there at the Allen County Memorial Coliseum.
Event organizer Stephanie Jentgen says that people with any kind of GM truck are invited to descend on the coliseum with their vehicles for a day of country music, auto exhibits, and presentations by GM engineers who worked on the new Silverado model. Then, they're going to attempt to break a record by leading a procession of pickups through the city. She says if they can get at least 387 GM pickups there, they'll beat the record.
At the GM Truck Homecoming, they'll also give out prizes to the owners of GM trucks, based on things like how old the vehicles are, or how many miles each one has. To find out more about attending, go to www.GMTruckHomecoming.com .
