STURGIS (WKZO) -- A meth bust in Sturgis has resulted in two arrests.
Shortly before midnight Tuesday, Sturgis Police spotted two white male suspects that had been possibly involved in meth manufacturing earlier that day walking near Franks Park on South Lakeview Street. When confronted, the suspects fled.
A 17-year-old was chased down and arrested, and his backpack was found to have many of the components needed to make a one-pot meth lab. A K-9 unit tracked the second suspect, a 23-year-old man, and the suspect was arrested west of Franks Park. Both are being charged with resisting and obstructing police and manufacturing meth.
The younger suspect is also being charged with a probation violation. The older suspect was also arrested on an outstanding warrant. Both are Sturgis residents and currently being held at the St. Joseph County Jail.
