Michigan lawmaker wants to eliminate law against ticket scalping

LANSING (WKZO) --Tickets for last night’s game six at Fenway Park ranged from 2,000 to 12-thousand dollars as ticket scalpers made a fortune.

If the Tigers had made it to game six in the series, the tickets might have been selling for as much, but if you tried to do it outside Comerica Park, you would have been guilty of a misdemeanor.

At the same time it would have been legal to do it on Stub Hub or some other out of state website.

Rep. Tim Kelly is proposing to do away with Michigan’s ban on scalping.

He says they are your tickets and you should be able to do what you want with them. He says the 1931 law is intrusive and puts a burden on the courts.

The proposal heads to the House Judiciary Committee to see if anyone will buy it.

Bosox fans got their moneys worth, Boston winning the series last night.
