UNDATED (WKZO) -- They were "Making Strides" against Breast Cancer this weekend in west Michigan as the annual month long explosion of pink is winding down.
Despite rain, wind and cold, area residents turned out Saturday for fundraising walks in Holland and Battle Creek.
500 Residents from the Battle Creek area raised $42,000, while another 600 participants raised $46,000 in Holland, for a total of $88,000.
In Kalamazoo a more modest sum as they held a Pink Out Sunday at North Park Reformed Church.
They raised nearly 42-hundred dollars to support Journey Beads, a special partnership between the Bronson Health Foundation and the West Michigan Glass Art Center to create glass beads that mark milestones in the cancer treatment for kids at Bronson’s Children’s hospital.
