KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Western Michigan University is getting ready to open up a new facility. WMU Director of Archives Sharon Carlson says that the new Zhang Legacy Collections Center has been 20 years in the making.
The building, located 1650 Oakland Drive, will house a wide variety of the university's records. Carlson says that'll include documents on the university, the city, and the whole region. They'll cover people, businesses, and lanmarks, among other things. The center will also have old newspapers and magazines.
The Zhang Legacy Collection is named for Charles and Lynn Zhang, who are WMU grads and big donors to the facility. It will be dedicated this Friday at four PM.
