KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- A 29-year-old Kalamazoo man who repeatedly tried to force a Public Safety cruiser off the road by swerving and nearly colliding with the patrol car is sitting in a Kalamazoo County Jail Cell this morning, coming down from drugs and probably wondering what he was thinking.
The incident began early Friday morning in the 11-hundred block of S. Park. PSO Laurel Palk was northbound when she noticed the car tailgating her cruiser. The driver then suddenly swerved into the next lane, accelerated and swerving back at her, forcing her to brake.
She got on the radio, and before help arrived, the suspect had tried to force her off the road two more times. He fought with the officers who took him into custody.
They found meth and meth making equipment and Heroin in his car. After a trip to Bronson for an evaluation, he was taken to jail.
They plan to seek assault, possession, resisting and driving under the influence charges against the suspect.
