LANSING, MI (WHTC) - Governor Snyder “reluctantly” accepted the resignation on Friday of State Treasurer Andy Dillion after two and a half years at the post. The one-time Democratic state lawmaker is stepping down due to an acrimonious divorce that has brought what he calls “continued media attention and scrutiny.” Dillon has been the Snyder Administration’s point man in the Detroit bankruptcy situation, and joined the Ann Arbor venture capitalist’s cabinet after losing to Virgil Bernero in the 2010 Democratic gubernatorial primary. Mr. Snyder looks to have a new treasurer in place by November 1st, when Dillion’s resignation takes effect.
