KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Two suspected serial armed robbers are the focus of an investigation by local law enforcement agencies. An investigation has determined the pair may be suspects in crimes ranging from armed robbery and breaking and entering to larceny and fleeing from police.
A Family Dollar in the 1200-block of Portage Road was the scene of an armed robbery last Saturday, then on Tuesday the Sunny Mart on East Cork and another store on Shoppers Lane in Parchment were both scenes of other armed robberies.
Police identified a getaway vehicle in the last crime and arrested 42-year-old Aquarius Walker of Kalamazoo after he fell into the Kalamazoo River while allegedly fleeing police. He has since been arraigned on two counts of armed robbery, breaking and entering, being an accessory after the fact, and fleeing and eluding police.
Police are now seeking 39-year-old Stanley Rice of Kalamazoo, as charges against him have been authorized for three counts of armed robbery and one count fleeing from police. Anyone with information on Rice's whereabouts is asked to contact Kalamazoo Public Safety or Kalamazoo Township Police.
