DEARBORN (WKZO) -- A glitch in thousands of Ford Motor Company vehicles has prompted a recall by the automaker.
The notice affects just under 24-thousand Ford Focus Electric and C-Max models. The vehicles have a push button start but do not make a sound when the driver's door is open which is required by federal law. The driver needs to have their "key fob" in the vehicle for the push button start to work and without an audible tone, drivers could accidentally leave the device in the car and keep it running.
Most of the vehicles in the recall are in the United States with approximately 900 in Canada.
