ELKHART (WKZO) -- A Pizza Hut franchise owner in Elkhart has reportedly offered to rehire a long time manager who refused to open his Pizza Hut on Thanksgiving Day this year.
The company didn’t exactly fire 28-year-old Tony Rohr, but they did apparently demand his resignation.
Rohr says he has a crew that’s all working minimum wage that only gets two days off every year to be with their family and management didn’t even offer extra compensation to work the holiday.
He says he is amazed with the response that publicity about his decision has garnered.
The Pizza Hut Corporation has taken a beating on social media and says it was the decision of the local franchise to open on Thanksgiving.
They have encouraged the firm to rehire Tony, but Rohr says he has no intention of going back to work for them
