Winter storm racing across the U.S. but will miss West Michigan

WEST MICHIGAN (WKZO) -- Winter definitely arrived this weekend, but West Michigan will avoid the worst of it.

A storm system that blew in off the Pacific, wreaking havoc in California, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma has already killed 13 and is expected to freeze and bury the central Midwest, south of Michigan and then drift up the east coast, threatening holiday travel for millions of Americans.

Its already begun to disrupt the nation's air-flight schedules, which could be a disaster for anyone trying to fly home for the holidays on Tuesday or Wednesday.

For now the forecast for west Michigan is calling for clearing on Wednesday, the day most travelers hit the road for Thanksgiving.  There could be light snow on Thursday.
