LANSING (WKZO) -- Legislation's been introduced in the Michigan House aimed at raising awareness for women's health. State Representative Amanda Price, from the Holland area, says that her legislation would set up a breast and cervical cancer fund, and a companion bill would establish a new specialty license plate designed to increase breast cancer awareness.
Price says that knowledge of the risks of the two diseases is critical in the fight against them. She thinks that maybe having license plates out on the roadways will keep women thinking about getting screened.
The legislation to create the specialty plate, and the fund to go along with it, is bipartisan. There's a similar Pink Plate bill in the State Senate.
