LANSING (WKZO) -- State legislators continue their efforts to repeal obsolete laws. This time, the State House has voted to repeal a seven year old law that required dieticians and nutritionists in Michigan to be licensed.
State Representative Ed McBroom, of Vulcan, says that the law has been pointless, and not one such license has ever been issued. He notes that there's still a chance someone could try to implement the statute, and reasons the whole matter could be headed off by simply repealing it.
The licensing law for dieticians never had any guidelines set up. It's one of several that wasn't being enforced that state lawmakers have repealed in recent months.
