KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- A Democratic candidate has started her campaign for Michigan's 66th House District seat.
Annie Brown is a resident of South Haven and currently serves as a school board member there, but she's hoping to serve in the Michigan House. She was joined by fellow Democrats Representative Sean McCann and former Representative Ed LaForge in making her announcement Monday morning.
In a statement, Brown says she has recently been meeting with families throughout the district to get an idea for what they might like to see accomplished in Lansing. Brown is also a member of the Leadership Council for Welcoming Michigan.
The seat is currently held by Republican Representative Aric Nesbitt of Lawton.
