(WNFL) - It has basically come down to a three-race season for NASCAR drivers Matt Kenseth and Jimmie Johnson. Both are tied for first place in the Chase for the Sprint Cup with three events left -- the first of which is the Triple-"A" Texas 500 on Sunday in Fort Worth. Qualifying takes place this afternoon. Kenseth, of Cambridge in southern Wisconsin, is going for his second career title in NASCAR's top circuit -- and his first since 2003. He and Johnson are tied with 22-hundred-94 season points. Jeff Gordon, the winner of last week's race, is 27 points back in third. Kevin Harvick is 28 back in fourth. Kyle Busch is 36 off the pace in fifth. Also entered for the Sprint Cup event is Paul Menard of Eau Claire, Travis Kvapil of Janesville, and Beloit-born Danica Patrick. Also, Kenseth is entered for tomorrow's Nationwide Series race at Fort Worth, the 300-mile O'Reilly Auto Parts Challenge. The Camping World Series' drivers compete tonight in the Win-Star World Casino-350 as the Texas Motor Speedway. Johnny Sauter of Necedah is fifth in the season standings. He was 13th in his latest practice run with a one-lap speed of 179-point-217 miles an hour.
