Chicago, IL (1660 The Fan) – The Blackhawks avoided elimination and have forced a sixth game with a 4-1 win in Game 5 over the Red Wings on Saturday night.

Corey Crawford made 25 saves on 26 shot attempts for the Blackhawks for their first win in the series since the opening game on May 15.

Bryan Bickelly scored the first goal of the game for the Blackhawks 14:08 into the first period.

Daniel Cleary tied the game at one in the second period with his second goal in as many games. But the Blackhawks scored two power-play goals from Jonathan Toews and Andrew Shaw to end the period up 3-1. Shaw added this third career playoff goal in the third.

Jimmy Howard made 41 saves and allowed more goals in Game 5 than he did in the three previous games, all Wings wins.

Red Wings look for their second chance to close out the series on Monday night back at Joe Louis Arena. Coverage beings on 1660 The Fan at 7:40pm.
