MATTAWAN (WKZO) -- The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit conducted an investigation into suspected meth manufacturing in the 23000-block of Kinne Avenue around 2 p.m. Thursday.
A search warrant was executed at a residence with help from the Van Buren County Uniform Response Division and the Mattawan Police Department, finding three subjects in the home, along with meth paraphernalia and chemicals to manufacture the drug, as well as a quarter-pound of marijuana. A pickup truck spotted pulling into the driveway of the residence just before the search also turned up an active meth lab in a toolbox in the truck's bed, along with empty Sudafed boxes, peeled batteries, and other meth-making materials.
41-year-old Heather Christianson, 41-year-old Gregory McKinney, and 40-year-old Brett Herwick, all from Mattawan, were arrested in connection with the case and taken to the Van Buren County Jail. A report of the incident has been forwarded to the Van Buren County Prosecutor's Office for review.
