LANSING (WKZO) -- The Red Cross in West Michigan is mobilizing its volunteers, in case they're needed in Oklahoma after this week's tornadoes. Spokesperson Kelly Hudson says they're on standby, and the organization has mobilized across the country in other ways.
She says counsellors are being sent to the affected areas, and the Red Cross is moving out its disaster relief trucks, which are loaded with food and water, and also opening shelters.
Hudson adds if you have a loved one in Oklahoma, one way to check if they're OK is to go to the "Safe and Well" website, where people can register themselves for a database to let others know they're all right. Also, you can help the Red Cross by texting "REDCROSS" to 90999. That'll automatically make a donation of ten dollars to the organization.
