LANSING (WKZO) -- The "Click It or Ticket" seatbelt program begins in Michigan today with a light-hearted campaign.
The medical themed commercials feature an imaginary condition known as "Buckle-phobia." The message tells drivers if they're wearing a seatbelt, they won't feel the side effects of a 65-dollar ticket.
Law enforcement agencies across the state will operate federally funded seatbelt enforcement zones through Memorial Day weekend. Officials say they cited over 81-hundred drivers for not wearing a seatbelt last year during the holiday campaign.
