Wings fall in Game 1 to Blackhawks 4-1

Chicago, IL (1660 The Fan) – The Blackhawks scored three goals in the third period, the final an empty netter, to take Game 1 over the Red Wings 4-1. Damian Brunner scored the lone goal for the Wings in the first to tie the game at one after former Red Wing Marian Hossa put Chicago in the lead 1-0 just two minutes earlier. Jimmy Howard made 38 saves on 41 shots. Johnny Oduya and Marcus Kruger scored the second and third goals for the Blackhawks before Patrick Sharp tallied the empty netter. Wings look to rebound in Game 2 on Saturday afternoon with coverage beginning on 1660 The Fan at 12:40 pm.
