BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) -- Nearly 188-thousand dollars will be given to nine school districts and governments in Calhoun County from the FireKeepers Casino. The money comes from slot-machine and electronic-gaming revenue at the casino, and represents two-percent of what the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi took in over the past year. Since the casino opened in August 2009, the tribe has paid out nearly 58-million dollars through the FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board.
