Changes in store for Grand Rapids B.O.B. after stairwell falls

GRAND RAPIDS (WKZO) -- A series of deadly stairwell falls from the fourth floor of The B.O.B. will lead to changes to try to keep anyone else from being hurt.  Two men have died in the last month, including 36-year-old Kevin O'Brien, who fell four stories down a narrow flight of emergency stairs over the weekend and was pronounced dead last night after being taken off life support.

At least one legal expert says the Gilmore Collection has no liability because the stairs are an obvious and avoidable hazard, but sources within the organization say changes will be made, including raising stairwell railings by 18-inches to keep people from falling over.
