Anaheim, CA (1660 The Fan) -- Henrik Zetterberg and Valtteri Filppula each had a goal and an assist as the Red Wings have advanced to the Western Conference Semifinals eliminating the Anaheim Ducks with a 3-2 Game Seven victory. The seventh seeded Red Wings are 24-0-2 in games this season in which they scored three or more goals.
It didn’t take long for the Red Wings to get on the board as Zetterberg tallied his third goal of the postseason 1:49 into the game.
Anaheim tied the game at one when Emerson Etem notched his third goal of the playoffs with 6:12 left in the first, tying the game at one.
Justin Abdelkader put the Wings back in the lead with a shorthanded goal with 3:23 left in the first.
Valtteri Filppula added his first playoff goal 13:45 into the second period for the Wings third goal. Francois Beauchemin’s power play goal cut the Wings lead in half 3-2.
Jimmy Howard made 31 saves for the Wings first regulation playoff win this year.
The Red Wings take on Original Six rival Chicago Blackhawks in the next round starting on Wednesday night. Chicago finished with the best overall regular season record.
