Detroit, MI (WKZO) – Jose Valverde blew a 3-2 Tigers lead in the ninth inning and Mark Reynolds RBI single in the 10th lifted the Indians to a 4-3 victory over the Tigers to take the weekend series two games to one.

This was the first save Valverde had blown this year after closing out three opportunities before Saturday. It was also this first run Valverde had allowed since rejoining the Tigers.  Valverde walked Michael Bourne to start the ninth and he later scored the game tying run on a single from Michael Brantley.

Rick Porcello made it three quality starts in a row, allowed just two runs, while giving up four hits and walking two over six innings. Porcello struck out six, the last one coming against former Tiger Ryan Raburn.

Backup catcher Brayan Pena opened the scoring for the Tigers with a two run shot in the second inning, his second of the year. But Cleveland responded right back, tying the game at two on Jason Kipnis two run RBI double in their half of the third.

The Tigers took the lead 3-2 after Omar Infante hit a sac fly scoring Jhonny Peralta from third.

Zach McAllister went six innings giving up all three runs to the Tigers on eight hits. Joe Smith got the win for the Indians and Cody Allen finished the 10th for his first career save.

Darrin Downs took the loss for Detroit.

Tigers Highlights:

*On a 0-1 count and two down, Porcello hit former Tiger Ryan Raburn square in the back with a 91mph fastball.

*Cleveland loaded the bases in the fifth with one down, but Porcello got Asdrubal Cabrera to ground into a double play ending the inning with no damage done.

* Jose Ortega started the seventh and was replaced by Phil Coke with runners on first and second and one down. Coke got Michael Brantley to ground into a 6-4-3 double play on the first pitch. Coke recorded an out in the eighth before Joaquin Benoit finished the frame.

*In the 10th and runners on the corners with one down Asdrubal Cabrera was tagged out at home on a ground ball hit to Peralta at short.  Reynolds hit the game winning single the next at bat.

Tigers Lowlights:

*With runners on first and second and one down in the first inning, former Tiger Ryan Raburn made a sliding catch to rob Prince Fielder of a base hit and an RBI. Victor Martinez followed by striking out on three pitches.

*McAllister was able to get out a jam in the third after allowing a single to Cabrera and walking Fielder, he got Martinez to fly out and Don Kelly to ground out to second ending the threat.

*With bases loaded and one down, Miguel Cabrera popped out to second and Prince Fielder struck out to end the fourth.

*Jhonny Peralta grounded into a double play with Don Kelly on base to end the fifth.

*After Andy Dirks walked to open the ninth, Torii Hunter grounded into a double play.
