Johan Franzen scored the opening goal on the power play 5:28 into the first. But Kyle Palmieri tied the game at one with 2:19 left in the first.
Mikael Samuelsson tallied his first goal of the postseason to regain the lead for the Wings 10 minutes into the second. Once again the Ducks tied the game with a power play goal of their own from Ryan Getzlef with just 32 seconds left in the second.
Captain Henrik Zetterberg had two assists and Jimmy Howard made 31 saves on 34 shots.
