Anaheim, CA (1660 The Fan) – Gustav Nyquist scored 1:21 into overtime as the Red Wings have tied their best of seven series with the Anaheim Ducks at a game apiece with a 5-4 overtime win in game two on Thursday night.
Justin Abdelakador and Damien Brunner tallied the first two Wings goals just 3:32 apart in the first and Johan Franzen scored 1:04 into the second to put Detroit up 3-0.
The Ducks finally found the back of the net as Saku Koivu’s power play goal trimmed the lead to 3-1 with just over nine minutes left in the second period.
Franzen recorded his second goal of the game on the power play 20 seconds into the third, extending the Wings lead back to three at 4-1.
In the third period, Ryan Getzlaf and Kyle Palmieri scored the second and third goals for the Ducks before Bobby Ryan scored the Ducks fourth goal with 2:22 remaining.
Brunner and Pavel Datsyuk had two assists each for Detroit
Jimmy Howard made 28 saves for the Wings.
