KALAMAZOO (WKZO) – New to the 2013 Kalamazoo Marathon this year is an instant tracking option to see exactly where runners are in the race. The Kalamazoo Marathon is joining many other races such as the Chicago and Boston marathons that allow friends and family to track their runners.
All it takes is for runners to scan their QR code available on their bibs with a smartphone and then enter their race number on the page. From there they will be able to share with others through Facebook, Twitter, and email.
Information such as individual splits and finishing times will be available for tracking for the 5K, half-marathon, and marathon races.
If you need to download a QR reader to your smartphone, visit www.scanlife.com/en/gl-apps.
Runners can always check my-finish.com and enter their race number to get official results. Results will be uploaded to the site every few minutes once runners are finishing the race.
