LANSING (WKZO) -- The State Senate this week approved legislation that would provide for a special designation on the drivers licenses of Michigan veterans.
State Representative Nancy Jenkins sponsored the House version, and says the idea is to make it easier for vets to verify their military service when applying for benefits or discounts. She's heard from plenty of veterans who requested such a designation.
The legislation now goes on to Governor Rick Snyder. If it's signed into law, Michigan will become the 28th state to place a veterans designation on its drivers licenses.
