STURGIS (WKZO) -- A Sturgis homeowner got quite a fright when he walked into his kitchen for breakfast on Thursday, and confronted a masked intruder, but his dog knew exactly what to do.
Police say the 39-year-old occupant and the home invader began to struggle, which quickly ended when the family dog intervened and bit the burglar. The home invader immediately fled the home in the 600 block of S. Jefferson St.
Sturgis police deployed a K-9 to try to track down the sneak thief but he must have had a car stashed nearby. The dog lost the scent.
The suspect was slim, about 6-foot wearing a long sleeve blue shirts and light colored jeans.
