Sharpton Calls Michigan Emergency Manager law a race issue

DETROIT (WKZO) -- Saying, "it's a race and a class issue," the Reverend Al Sharpton led protests in Detroit today in front of the federal courthouse.  The civil rights activist joined others in filing suit challenging the legislation that allowed Governor Rick Snyder to appoint an Emergency Manager for the city.

Sharpton says that if the Emergency Manager law stands, "There will be a threat to everyone in this nation."  The governor says this is all part of the democratic process and points out that the state has a good track record in defending against this type of lawsuit.
