KALAMAZOO (WKZO ) -- The Eighth Annual Kalamazoo Fretboard Festival is this weekend. The event started Friday, but the big action is Saturday, says organizer Bill McElhone. That's when they'll have the most perfromances.
The Fretboard Festival is a celebration of all things stringed, with a particular emphasis on locally made stringed instruments. McElhone says that there will also be music workshops and a presentation form author John Thomas, who has a new book called "Kalamazoo Gals" that's all about the women who worked for Gibson Guitars during World War II.
The Fretboard Festival will be held at Kalamazoo Valley Museum, on North Rose Street. To find out more, go to http://fretboard.kvcc.edu .
