WASHINGTON (WKZO) -- Several southwest Michigan harbors will be dredged and repaired with money from Hurricane Sandy recovery funds.

U.S. Senator Carl Levin made the announcement Wednesday, saying the first 5.2-million of 19-million from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be spent in New Buffalo, Holland, South Haven, St. Joseph, Muskegon, and Saugatuck.  While Hurricane Sandy did significant damage to the East Coast, the storm also battered harbors and ports on the Great Lakes.
