KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Downtown Kalamazoo Incorporated is trying to educate people about the parking that's available in the city's downtown area. The group held a meeting this week to clear up what it believes are incorrect perceptions about the parking situation.
DKI President Steve Deisler says that many think there just isn't enough parking, or it costs too much. He wants to dispell that thinking, telling us that that there are 280 free 90 minutes parking spaces downtown, located largely near shops and restaurants. He also points to the parking garages, which DKI is pushing people to use more.
Deisler added that the organization is planning to start charging for nighttime parking up until midnight, instead of the current nine PM, to reduce overall costs.
