Three vigils held in Kalamazoo, Mattawan and Ottawa County for men who died too young

UNDATED (WKZO) -- Three vigils were held last night in west Michigan for three young men who died under completely different circumstances but all died too young.

In Kalamazoo, the family of Kayin Sato held a vigil near the Canterbury Apartments in Oshtemo where he fell to his death.

Sheriff’s deputies believe a railing on a landing failed and he fell through it onto the cement below. His family still believes there is something more sinister involved and are asking for anyone with information to come forward.  It remains under investigation.

In Ottawa County, a vigil was held for 16-year-old Brandon Kuiper who was taken off life support and died Friday after police say he was shot in the face by a friend playing with a gun on Wednesday.

At Mattawan High School, a vigil was held for firefighter Nate Fruin, the young volunteer firefighter who suffered a heart attack on his way to a fire call and died late last month.
