LANSING (WKZO) -- Legislators hope to have a plan in place for funding much-needed road fixes across the state before they take their summer break.
The governor has proposed an increase in gas taxes as well as higher vehicle registration fees that would cost the average family an additional 120-dollars per vehicle per year. Senator Patrick Colbeck of Canton suggests allocating economic growth funding and selling naming rights for state bridges as a an alternative way to raise the money.
The governor has said that the state needs 1.2-billion dollars to fund the necessary repairs.
