LANSING (WKZO) -- Legislation has been introduced in the State House requiring that a parent or a caregiver of a minor immediately report it to police if that child goes missing or somehow dies. Failure to report such an incident right away would be a felony.
Sponsor State Representative Tom Hooker, of Byron Township, says this will help police more quickly investigate incidents in which children either die, or disappear:
This new statute would be known as "Caylee Anthony's Law."
