CHICAGO (WKZO) -- While Kalamazoo got a dusting of snow, Benton Harbor, South Haven and New Buffalo all have seen several inches and Chicago has seen as much snow as they have gotten from one storm in over a year.
Winter storm emergencies were declared in Minneapolis where Northwest has a hub. If you were planning to fly out of West Michigan today, you may want to call ahead first.
It isn’t difficult to get around most of west Michigan by Vehicle this morning but it may be difficult to catch a plane, particularly if you are headed west from either Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International or Gerald Ford International.
Daniel Baker, the CEO of FLightaware.com says the airports in a six state area and thousands of flights have been effected by the latest winter storm.
He says fortunately many of them make it easier to switch flights these days, because you may need to, and they will waive the usual fees.
