QUINCY (WKZO) -- A longtime family owned business in Branch County went up in flames early Tuesday.

Longstreet Furniture, located on the north side of U-S-12 halfway between Coldwater and Quincy, was gutted by the seven alarm fire.

No injuries were reported.

A passing motorist first noticed smoke coming from the building and called 9-1-1 around 12:30 this morning.

Quincy firemen were first on the scene and discovered heavy smoke showing and the blaze quickly spread through the structure. It took about an hour and a half before the fire was declared under control.

Assisting Quincy firemen were fire departments from Coldwater, Bronson, Lakeland, Allen, Jonesville, and Fremont, Indiana.

There’s no information yet on a possible cause for the fire and at last word, firemen were still on site.
