Cassopolis (WKZO) – A major transmission line serving five Midwest Energy Cooperative substations has gone down and about 4800 co-op members have no electricity in Mattawan, Prairie Ronde, Schoolcraft, Lawton, Vicksburg and Kalamazoo. The outage began about 7 p.m.
Co-op officials have been in contact with the transmission provider and understand that crews have been dispatched. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
Midwest Energy Cooperative is a member-owned electric utility providing electric distribution to more than 35,000 customers in 11 counties in southern Michigan and northern Indiana and Ohio.
