Michigan Lottery plans online lottery sales

LANSING (WKZO) -- The Michigan State Lottery plans to sell lottery tickets online soon.  Kurt Weiss, a spokesperson for Governor Rick Snyder, says online sales for draw games like Mega Millions and Powerball via online subscription will begin by this spring.

Daily 3, Daily 4, and Club Keno will not be part of the initial subscription program, but by the end of the year they may be available through a new system called iLottery.  The types of games available on iLottery will depend on the results of a request for proposals which is due in late March.

Although the state says online sales will bring in more revenue for schools, some businesses are worried that it will hurt their ticket sales.
