OFF WORLD (WKZO) -- This weekend’s SuperMoon hasn’t always been considered to be so super duper.
We get the word "Lunacy" from the belief that madness and the moon were somehow linked, and would increase as the moon hits perigee.
There is some truth to the fact that the Moon causes higher tides when its closer to the earth, but the effect is negligible and it caused no discernable flooding this weekend, and the same goes for its alleged negative effects on weather. It didn’t happen.
It was and still is approximately 14% bigger putting off 30% more light. It will now go into its phases and not be quite as impressive as the full moon we got this weekend.
