KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- The Western Michigan University Sunseekers team is preparing for a grand prix in Texas. The Sunseekers build a solar powered car and then take it to various competitions each year.
The team's Joshua Allen says, on Monday, they'll be in Austin. The competition will be on a closed course, and it'll involve solar car teams from across the country driving laps for days on end. Whoever drives the most laps, wins.
Allen says the car the Sunseekers have built has a solar array on top, and a large battery on the inside, just in case. You can follow the team's progress at www.WMich.edu/sunseeker .
