Gang-related charges issued in Battle Creek shooting investigation

BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) -- More charges have been issued in a Battle Creek shooting.

26-year-old Dawon Dupree Haymer was arrested for a shooting in the 100-block of Greenwood Avenue on June 2nd after he was found in Shreveport, Louisiana on June 12th.  He allegedly shot 34-year-old Jonathon Mark Jones twice in the legs after an argument before driving away.

An investigation has brought charges against 24-year-old Tyria Johnson, who investigators say told Haymer of Jones's location, 25-year-old Tyreise Johnson, who allegedly took Haymer to the scene of the shooting, and 25-year-old Timothy Crape, accused of giving untruthful statements to investigators after allegedly witnessing the crime.

Johnson and Carpenter face charges of aiding and abetting, while Crape is charged with lying to police.  Carpenter and Crape also face additional charges because it is believed their actions may have been gang-related.
