KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Nero the crime-busting K-9 is getting credit for tracking down a bank robber in Kalamazoo.
The suspect walked into the Omni Community Credit Union on East Cork Street just before 2:30 yesterday [wed] afternoon and handed the teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied and the suspect was last seen running north on Morgan St.
That’s when Nero and handler PSO Kelly Pittelkow went to work and followed the scent trail right to the door of the 33-year-old suspect on Lowell St.
He was arrested and evidence of the crime was collected by officers.
