LANSING (WKZO) -- State health officials confirm two more Michigan residents have died in connection with an outbreak of fungal meningitis linked to tainted steroid injections.

Authorities say a 64-year-old woman and a 75-year-old man, both from Livingston County, died after receiving the shots.  The outbreak has been attributed to contaminated steroids sent to facilities in 23-states from a Massachusetts-based company last spring.

In Michigan, 2,200 have died and over 260 have become sick and state officials say nearly 1,800 patients statewide received the steroid injections at four different clinics.
